Short weeks always confuse me. What day is it? How is it Thursday already? Does this happen to anyone else?
I love long weekends because it always means visitors in Georgia! My brother took an extra-long weekend and drove up on Wednesday night. He made it in time to watch The Professor play in his first intramural soccer game of the season. This season, he’s on a team with students. The poor old man was WORN OUT when he finished playing.
On Thursday evening, we met friends for Trivia Night at The Pickle Barrel. Beer and wings is one of the greatest combinations of all times. We got second place and won a $30 gift card so it looks like we’ll be heading back for more trivia soon!
My mom, dad, and nephew arrived a little after midnight on Friday. While most of us were ready to fall asleep, The Tiny Human and The Tiny Dog decided it was play time and chased each other around the house for a while.
We played ALL weekend. I had over 20,000 steps Saturday, Sunday, and Monday (and I skipped my run all 3 days!). Chasing after a 2.5 year old is a full time job! Levi has this awesome truck that he learned to drive this weekend. He loved it and kept wanting to drive around the circle. The only problem was that his little foot got tired of pushing the pedal, so I had to jump in and drive. Apparently, the car isn’t made for adults and my parents had to give us a boost to keep the car moving forward. I can only image what our neighbors were thinking!
We took a break to take my parents to campus and show them around. My mom has been to campus before, but my dad never has. Campus was eerily quite, but we got to explore the classrooms, my office, and a couple of other buildings. We also walked downtown for some frozen yogurt.
I always hate when it’s time for everyone to go home. I keep trying to convince my parents to buy the lot right behind us and build a house. I think I’m slowly wearing them down… The Professor and Milly were worn out! I snapped this pic right before I joined them in their afternoon nap.
