To be fair, I started writing this post on Monday morning, but then I got distracted. Plus, at the rate I’ve been blogging lately, this is one of my most timely posts! So here’s a little recap about what we were up to over the weekend.
We celebrated The Professor’s big 2-9 over the weekend. His actual birthday was Sunday, but the celebrations started on Friday afternoon. The Professor finally has a friend to play disc golf with, so they skipped out of work a little early on Friday to go get a round in at the course on campus.
We were supposed to get our family pictures taken on Friday, but our photographer had to reschedule. Since we had a free evening, we took Milly down to campus to walk around. She LOVES going to campus, especially when the students are there. She got SO MANY belly rubs on Friday. It’s still in the 90s here in Georgia, so we took some time to lay in the grass and cool off a bit before finishing our walk.
We were up and out the door at 6:30 on Saturday to get our run in early enough that The Professor could make it back for the Tottenham game. I did 6 miles in 1:02:58 – just under that 10:30 pace! Milly and I napped while the game was on and she decided this was the most comfortable spot to nap in. She does not understand the term, “personal space.”
I did some grocery shopping and made THESE Snickers Rice Crispy treats. They were amazing. Go make them right now.
PS I normally go to the grocery on Sunday morning, not Saturday afternoon. There were so many people in Kroger that I was scared for my life. I was dodging carts and spent approximately 100 hours at the deli. Never again, people. Never again…
We had a cookout for The Professor’s birthday on Saturday night and played a game of wiffle ball in our front yard. Milly even had a few of her dog friends come over so she was WORN OUT by the night’s end. You know it was a good party when the dog’s exhausted, the beer cooler is empty, and there’s chocolate on the door handles.
We spent Sunday laying on the couch watching Netflix and eating Snickers Rice Crispy leftovers. We thought about doing chores, but decided binge watching TV was more important. PLUS – we were doing some very studious research for our fantasy football draft. My family has a league and we play for bragging rights. It’s a very big deal 🙂
At some point this week, we’ll get to those chores. We have lots of family coming in this week! My brother will be here this evening and my dad and nephew are driving down on Friday! I am trying to convince my mom to take off work and come visit too (so mom’s boss, if you’re reading this, can she have the day off? Please & thanks!). We’ll have a full house so I’ll probably need to make those Snickers Rice Crispies again…
