About Me

Hi there! Thanks for stopping by Run with the Roushes. Let me tell you a little bit about the blog and a little bit about myself. We Bought A House 2

About the Blog

Run with the Roushes started as Keeping up with Kimberly way back in 2011 as a New Year’s Resolution to cross an item off of my bucket list. I wanted to document my daily life and have a place to share my adventures as I continued to cross items off of my ever growing bucket list.

Happy New Year! #jkroush #marriage #werenotoldyet

If I had to categorize Run with the Roushes, I would put it in the “Lifestyle Blog” category, but only because there is no “Random Ramblings” category 🙂 Most of what you’ll find here focuses on my attempt at “adulting.” I love talking about running, my favorite [people, places, &] things, and our daily our lives here in The Peach State.

About the Blogger

My name is Kimberly Roush and I’m a twenty-something living in Central Georgia. I grew up in a small town in Indiana and studied marketing at Butler University (Go Dawgs!). After graduation, I entered the real world working in marketing (advertising & branding) and spent 5 years climbing the ladder at a Fortune 500 company.

Working in the sunshineIn 2015, my husband (The Professor) took an awesome job that moved us to a teeny tiny town in Georgia. I left the corporate world for the academic world and now teach Marketing courses at one of the top colleges in Georgia (where he is a Professor of Economics). In the span of two months, we got married, moved across the country, bought a house, and started new jobs. It’s been a busy year.

IMG_1200-2-In my spare time, I read as many fiction books as I can get my hands on, binge watch The Bachelor, and run as many miles as my body will let me. I love vacationing on the beach, Facetiming with my nephew, and talking long [read: short] walks with my adorable [read: lazy] yorkie puppy.

When your half hour nap turns into an hour nap and you want it to turn into a two hour nap but you really need to get some work done... #caseofthemondays

DISCLAIMER: Run With The Roushes is a personal blog where I share my stories on life, running, wedding planning, and other random topics. Occasionally I will share fitness tips, race reviews, product reviews, and recipes. Keep in mind that I am not a doctor, nutritionist, personal trainer (or anything close!), I just like to share my thoughts with you. Feel free to e-mail me with any questions or concerns.

Blog History

Run with the Roushes started as Keeping up with Kimberly way back in 2011 as a New Years Resolution. In college, I was a marketing major with a journalism minor but wasn’t using those writing skills in my day job as a Marketing Specialist. I wanted to document my daily life and have a place to share my adventures as I crossed items off of my bucket list. Plus, starting a blog was on that bucket list 🙂

My first blog post EVER was titled, “15 Things You Should Know about Me and My Blog.” I love re-reading that list every once in a while. So much has changed in my life since then.

In 2013, I moved from my hometown of Clarksville, IN to Pittsburg, PA for work. I spent 5 years working in various marketing roles for a Fortune 500 company. I was 6 hours away from family and 9 hours away from my boyfriend (who became my fiancé and then husband).

In March of 2015, I quit move job and moved to my interim home in Danville, KY. While I was there, I gave the blog a complete overhaul including a new name. You can read all about that HERE.

Blogging fell off the priority list as my husband and I got married, moved across the country, bought a house, and started new jobs (It was a busy two months!). Now that life has settled down a tiny bit, blogging is back on the to-do list!
